Sigríður Ósk Ólafsdóttir

Sigríður Ósk is a psychologist at Mín Líðan and provides online therapy session for young people and adults. She only uses evidence-based methods when working with mental health problems. Expertise and field of interest

Sigríður uses evidence-based methods for diagnosis and treatment and relies primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Alongside her work at Mín líðan, Sigríður works as a psychologist at The National Hospital in Iceland. Sigríður provides treatment for all kinds of mental health problems, but is particularly interested in helping those struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression and low self-esteem.

Education and work experience

Sigríður has worked as a licensed psychologist since 2021 and finished her Cand. Psych degree in clinical psychology the same year. She received training at the Áfalla- og sálfræðimiðstöðin (Trauma and Psychology Center), where she diagnosed and treated mental health problems in adults. Sigríður also received training at The National Hospital of Iceland, where she provided psychological support, made diagnosis and provided treatment for patients and their relatives the in cancer department. Sigríður completed er B.Sc. degree in psychology from the University of Reykjavík in 2014 and also has an M.Sc. degree in Health and Social Psychology from Maastricht University.

Sigríður has been employed as a psychologist at Mín líðan since 2021, where she offers online therapy sessions. Previously, she worked in research reading and data processing during her studies. She also did behavioral training for children with autism.

During her clinical program at The University of Reykjavík, Sigríður attended numerous workshops with experts who are at the forefront of their field, for example a workshop in the treatment of low self-esteem with Dr. Melanie Fennell, Depression with Dr. Stephen Barton and Social Anxiety with Dr. David Clark.
