Arnar Ingi Friðriksson

Arnar Ingi works as a psychologist at Mín líðan and offers online therapy sessions for adults. Arnar Ingi uses evidence-based methods for diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues. He works with diverse problems, such as stress, sleep problems, anxiety (including social anxiety, general anxiety and worry, panic disorder), depression, low self-esteem, communication problems and anger problems. He is particularly interested in helping those struggling with symptoms of social anxiety, anger issues, perfectionism and sleep problems. In previous jobs Arnar gained experience in counselling and education to parents of children with emotional problems.

Education and work experience

Arnar Ingi completed his master's degree in clinical psychology in the spring of 2016. Arnar has been working as a psychologist at Mín líðan since 2022, where he provides online therapy sessions. Previously, he worked as a psychologist at Litla Kvíðameðferðarstöðin where he performed diagnosis and provided treatment of anxiety, depression and other emotional problems. Before that, he worked as a school psychologist at Fræðslu- og frístundasvið Mosfellsbæjar. Arnar also received job training at Reykjalundur and Landspítalinn in 2015 and 2016 where he carried out diagnosis and provided treatment of psychological problems in adults.

Continuing education is an important part of a psychologist's work, and Arnar Ingi strives to regularly attend conferences, courses, workshops and other training from experts in the field in order to maintain his knowledge and skills.
